Love and Logic Seminars

Postby kwilliamsks » Thu Mar 04, 2010 10:43 pm

So there is a 5 day seminar coming near my area and I am wondering if I should go. I'm applying for my first teaching job right now and the seminar is this summer. I really like love and logic, i'm just not sure if the 5 day seminar is worth $350. Has anyone been to the five day summer workshop? What did you think? Was it helpful, or could i do the same by just purchasing the cds or dvds. I'm currently reading the book, I really like love and logic, and I'm a little unsure whether I should put out the money or not. Any comments?

I have attended a 4 day seminar - not the one you mention specifically - but found it worthwhile even though it was pretty
much a repeat of the DVD's. It can be costly and if that's a consideration (for most of us anyhow) the DVD's are taped
presentations made at these seminars, so you won't lose out by going that route. However, it was great to meet others,
learn from them and speak personally with Foster, Jim and Charles. They also do it up right when it comes to seminars - nothing cheesy about that for sure and you will enjoy yourself. Attending really helps reinforce and internalize the Love and Logic principles, while DVD's can be viewed over and over so you can get the same outcome. Don't know if this helps, but I'd go if it was convenient - otherwise buy the DVD's or CD's. Either way, a very good investment.

Well this helps. I am still considering going, but seeing as I don't currently have a job and the prospect of getting one with budget cuts is extremely low, i may opt for the dvds for now. They will come back to my town eventually, it just may be a while. Any other opinions on this, has anyone else ever been?
